LSI and Seagate to develop solid state drive with PCIe interface A
They are designed for data centers and cloud computing. LSI is the know-how to SAS and PCIe. Seagate brings its SSD technology to the cooperation. First product samples are in the second quarter are available.
LSI and Seagate have announced a collaboration in the field of Solid State Drives (SSD). The two companies plan to jointly develop flash-based storage solutions with integrated PCI Express interface. Such so-called Solid State Storage (SSS) will come in data centers and cloud computing is used.
For the new products combine the two partners LSIs know-how in Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and PCI-Express with Seagate’s SSD technology. This will bring more power – and the breakthrough of the SSS. First samples for OEM customers, the two partners in the second quarter are available.
